Ceragem hosted an event for planting cabbages on August 23rd to be used for the 2016 Sharing Love Kimchi Preparation Event this winter. Since 2011, the latter has been a major end-of-year occasion in which both senior executives staff of Ceragem at Cheonan voluntarily participate.
Beginning last year, Ceragem’s employees also started planting cabbages to be used for the event, making the meaning of sharing even more special. The planting of cabbages itself originated from the “Sharing Garden” project initiated in 2012. The project is an experienced-oriented volunteer activity in which Ceragem’s employees experience the joy of cultivating harvesting vegetables.
The planting event led by team leaders started after work hours, leading to over 1,200 cabbages planted. These cabbages, cultivated harvested, will serve for making Kimchi this December, which, will then be delivered to senior residents living alone or low income families in Cheonan.
Last year, Ceragem delivered Kimchi (involving over 3,000 cabbages in which 800 were directly cultivated by Ceragem’s workers) to over 450 low income families senior citizens living alone in Seonggeo Jinsan of Cheonan. An official of Ceragem stated, “We will do our best to cultivate today’s planted cabbages be of meaningful help to local residents this winter.”
Ceragem has been a company practicing sharing since its inception. In both Korea other countries from China to India, Germany, Chile, the company has strived to contribute to local communities in diverse ways.
